Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy can give you happy feet.

Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy is a form of therapy that uses physical contact to improve the impaired or altered function of the musculo-skeletal system. With roots in ancient Greek "frictions", manual manipulation has long been a part of health care.

The immediate goal of musculoskeletal manipulation is to restore maximal, pain-free movement of the musculoskeletal system in postural balance.

Foot Pain!

Damage to the foot and ankle is often caused by injury or repetitive stress. this trauma causes unbalanced foot action. As the body attempts to compensate for mechanical impairment and, since foot comfort varies directly with foot function, this generally leads to pain. Typical foot trauma causes joint tension, muscle strain, limited movement and pain.

Foot pain is not normal and can often be relieved through Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT). By performing manual adjustments of the bones and muscles of the foot, a patient can experience full restoration of foot function and relief from symptoms without surgery. Surprisingly fast results may often be achieved with OMT, allowing a clearing of periarticular inflammation, alleviating pain and normalizing weight-bearing while relieving muscle strain and cramping.

If the problem is chronic, due to age or athletic activity, joint infiltration and adhesions (scar tissue inside the body) may be broken up through OMT, freeing the foot for better mobility and articulation. Many cases of bursitis, usually a symptom of inadequate mechanical function, may heal spontaneously when the foot is corrected by OMT, reducing the friction of limited mobility on foot tissues.

Manually adjusting and moving your bones into their proper position starts a free flow of lymphatic fluids through normal channels and allows healing. Once your bones are properly positioned and this circulation restored, swelling and pain often reduces dramatically. Rather than waiting for several weeks for relief, you may be on your feet in several days.

Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy has proven to be an effective treatment for tired, aching feet, foot and ankle sprains, heel pain, metatarsal (ball) pain and is helpful for people of all ages. this highly effective treatment is often covered by Medicare and most insurance plans. It is pain-free.

Your feet should be pain free.
